Joseph Mingrone

Joseph Mingrone, beloved brother, dedicated educator, and passionate theatre director, passed away on March 1, 2025. He was predeceased by his partner, Ryan.

Joseph was a cherished member of his family and is survived by his brother, Vincent, and his two sisters, Theresa & Tracy. Throughout his life, he was known for his vibrant personality, sense of humor, and immense generosity.

The majority of his career in education was spent as an English teacher at Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School, where his talent and dedication left a lasting impact on the students and faculty alike. He also directed the Theatre Department at both Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School and St. Francis College, where his vision and creativity brought countless performances to life, shaping the careers and lives of many young performers. He will be remembered affectionately by his “Mins Kids” and the “Troupers”.

Those who knew Joseph best will remember him as the life of the party at every gathering, particularly at Bishop Ford events, where his humor and warmth filled the room. He had an extraordinary ability to find joy and laughter, even in the most challenging moments, and was always there to offer a helping hand or a kind word to his friends and family. His commitment to caring for others and his selflessness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation will be held on 

Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 

Miraglia Funeral Chapels, 8519 New Utrecht Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11214. 

A prayer service will take place from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM the same evening.

In honoring Joseph’s wishes, a private cremation will take place. Family and friends are invited to remember him in their hearts and continue to celebrate his incredible legacy.
