Jean Elizabeth Vanderpool

Jean E Vanderpool of Brooklyn NY passed away peacefully on January 14,2025 at the age of 72. 

Known to all who loved her as Jeannie, she was born in Brooklyn NY. Jeannie attended St. Frances Xavier Elementary School and then Bay Ridge High school in Brooklyn. She had a successful career that began as a bank teller in Chemical Bank and ended with a managerial position in BSI bank. 

She was best known for her love of her family, friends, and animals. Jeannie was a loving mother and grandmother who always put her children and grandchildren before anything else. She was friends with many people in the neighborhood especially her good friend Millie with whom she formed a special bond with. Jeannie could often be found taking care of the animals in the neighborhood or cooking meals for anyone who may need one. She was very thoughtful and caring to everyone she met. 

Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents Cornelius and Ruth Vanderpool, brother John Vanderpool, sister Patricia Ferreira and nephew Eric Vanderpool. She is survived by her children Christopher (Roberta) of Staten Island, John Paul (Barbie) of Breezy Point, grandchildren Toniann, Christopher jr, Kyle and Erin along with sisters Marguerite Nielson of Brooklyn, Judy Vanderpool of Connecticut, brother Kenneth Vanderpool of Mamaroneck. Jean was a wonderful aunt and great aunt to several nieces and nephews in New York, New Jersey, California, and Connecticut. 

A small service will be held for Jeannie on Thursday January 16, 2025 at Miraglia Funeral Home from 9:30 - 11:30AM followed by a mass at St. Frances Cabrini Church.
