Hida Contreras Aparicio

Hida Contreras Aparicio, of Brooklyn NY, was born in Tela, Honduras on August 27, 1929.

She is survived by her beautiful family; Enrique Aparicio (Brother) Humberto Aparicio (Son), Jose Funes (Son) & Wife Maria Funes, Jaqueline Downes (Daughter) & Husband John Downes, Ronnie Funes (Son) & Wife Elbita Funes, Roberto Funes (Son) & Wife Brenda Funes, Leslie Aparicioramón (Daughter) and Husband Joseph Elder.

Grandmother to 22 Kids, Great Grandmother to 21 Kids, & Great Great Grandmother to 3 Kids. Dennis Karina Vasquez & Jade Ortiz (Daughters in Christ)

Hida was a matriarch, she arrived in 1964 in the Bronx not speaking one word of English but she worked hard to bring all her 3 Kids from Honduras to unite all her 6 Kids. Raising six kids all on her own.

She was loving, caring, honest, strong, humble and loved her children, grand children and great grandchildren. She always made sure that anyone who came around her knew they were loved. Her faith was what was truly admired. For as long as her family can remember Hida made prayer a priority every night.

Her ability to love everyone. The fact that she wanted to teach everyone how to cook and have love for eating and living. Hida love to cook and feed All. She always enjoyed festivities. She was the best dancer at weddings. Her hobbies centered around cooking and eating great and fantastic foods. Teaching many how to cook, pray, and love God.

We want everyone to know that Hida was not perfect but her love and humble heart made everyone love her back. If you knew, mama Hida you know that if she had something and if you needed something, she would take the sweater off her back and give it to you. 

Hida was a wonderful woman with a great heart and will be survived by her wonderful family. Her legacy will live on.
