Brian Kelly, of Brooklyn, passed away on June 19, 2024, at the age of 67. Brian will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Josephine Kelly, and his family.
Brian's life will be celebrated during visitation services to be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Miraglia Funeral Chapels, 8519 New Utrecht Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11214. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at St. Mary Mother of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn at 11:30 AM.
Brian lived a fulfilling life surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born in the Bronx on September 1, 1956, he is survived by his 90-year-old mother, Mary Kelly. His father, Dominic Kelly, passed away in 2016. Brian was the middle child, with his older sibling Chris Ward (husband Paul Ward) and his younger sister Mary Spanos (husband Thomas Spanos). Although Brian and Josephine did not have children, he leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by his many nieces and nephews, totaling eight, and his great-nieces and nephews, totaling fifteen.
Brian was known for his passion for the Yankees MLB team and the Giants football team. His extensive knowledge about the history and statistics of the Yankees was a testament to his devotion to sports. Beyond his love for sports, Brian worked for over 35 years in the travel industry as a travel consultant for numerous corporations, including American Express and ProTravel Management. His love for traveling was matched by his enthusiasm for cooking, and he was well-known for trying new recipes.
In this time of sorrow, we remember Brian's kind spirit and the joy he brought to those around him. May he rest in peace knowing he was loved and will always be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
